At a gathering of business people, I was approached by a mid-aged entrepreneur. He wanted me to advise him how small companies can introduce “Corporate Culture”?
I said “to me corporate culture is to do with people’s behavior at work and it starts with the BOSS. He is the one who creates vision and practice some specific values”.
When Vision and Values penetrate in the day-to-day working practice of the rest of the team, some specific systems or “Behaviors” emerge and become “Corporate Culture” of that particular company.
Readers would agree with me that entrepreneurs, particularly owners that run smaller companies, often get busy in FIRE FIGHTING and ignore the fact that their own believes are fundamental to determining corporate culture in their organizations and in the long run, vision and values are the two factors help shape the work environment and serve as performance drivers.
In my seventeen years of engagement with the British Deputy High Commission, I observed that in some cases, corporate culture exist by default, however, in smaller and younger organizations, owner’s behavior determines the direction.
So the challenge for you gentlemen is to create good values at your workplace, the corporate culture will emerge automatically!

Team Work – An essential factor for Successful Businesses
My discussions with entrepreneurs, staff and board reveal that they all put lots of emphasis on team work. And strongly believe that the most important factor in making an enterprise profitable is “TEAM WORK”, yet almost none could define team work in simple language. The answers I get are:
Team work means ---------------
• Unity
• Together Everyone Achieves Miracles.
• Achieving set goals through collective group effort
• Corroborative action with all the people involved to gain a single goal/ objective
• Achieving mutually agreed objective through collective efforts with out becoming free rider
• Helps in achieving the vision through smart objective.
• Patience
• Submission
• Teamwork is a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize his/her strengths and minimize his/her weaknesses.
• Teamwork is that when synergies of the team get larger than the sum of individual potentials....may sound too idealistic but that is what an ideal team should be
• It is when no one cares who gets the credit for the success
• This is the "soul" to work as a Team! If this soul is absent, it becomes individualism
To me these are excellent explanations, but a bit more theoretical! I tell them that they need to understand the concept and explain in simple language, otherwise the concept would not cascade down to the lowest levels; making team work a rear phenomenon!
My understanding of “TEAM WORK” is very simple!
Lets watch small clips of a field hockey match or a team of hyena on hunt.
Observe that in both cases, there are teams, the forward player or attacker focuses on the ball or in case of hyena at targeted animal, whereas the rest of the team focuses on the forward player or attacker. Also observe the mental coordination that helps in coordinated moves to strengthen the attack.
This is a great learning for me! Can you develop such team sprit?
If Hyena could do it, you can too……..

First Step towards Building Your Personality!
Other day, I was thinking about different personalities, some good, some not so good. The thought process went on, and my mind started a debate “Why do we have some specific personalities? and is it really possible to train our brain to switch our personalities?”
My logical brain responded, yes! personality can be switched but only if there is a realization of what we are and what we want to be. Perhaps learning to watch your own self is the key in identifying your personality.
Throughout a normal day, we do several things, such as walking, sitting, talking, reading, eating etc. Our ability to watch our self keeps the brain in alert state.
In this state your third eye becomes observant of your personality.
This is the first stage of realization. The change begins when we are able to realize what we are…………try will help improve your personality.

Do you want peace around you?
In my opinion the question above is invalid, because everyone wants peace, YES!
The valid questions are:
1. Are you doing anything to bring peace?
2. and more importantly, how can you contribute in bringing peace?
I am part of a team of volunteers who are dedicated to brining peace. Please come and participate in this initiative.
By using scientifically proven heart and mind coherence technologies, our group led by Dr Mohammad Alam is training over 100,000 students aged 5 and 10 to send electromagnetic signals all over the country which is a guarantee to PEACE.
Spread this message to everyone you know.
Thank you for becoming peace!

Social Vs "Board Room Styled" Meetings
Reading an interesting observation by Glenn Parker, team building consultant and author of Meeting Excellence: 33 Tools to Lead Meetings that Get Results, “The main thing people hate about meetings is that they are poorly run or don't accomplish anything,"
And was comparing this with Barack Obama recent statement when he said that “Something that could take 20 serious meetings can be achieved at a social discussion over a party” !
In my view also, social meetings are extremely useful because absence of a written agenda gives more flexibility for discussions to go from official versions to social discussions, and that keeps our mind relaxed. Often there is meal and drinks available that attract our attention from things we differ to agree. Those who have experienced both “board room styled” and social meetings will concur that socially, there are less words to chew!
I ran a small survey on my facebook by asking opinions on Obama’s statement.
Responses:
Well agreed! Social discussion or should I say playing golf!
...depends on the liquids served
This is how we move things......
Very true sir, sometimes u got many things useful knowledge in form of brainstorming wd having lunch, chill party wd friends=)
People understand professional things better in a non professional environment
Really Sir, this is true
true many times but sometimes when the matter is more complex ....it does need a structured system/ environment

Will Cartoon Characters build our Next Generation!
Super kids can only build super generations!
Those kids that live in the real world and are able to think and react to situations naturally.
Please look around and see if we are helping our next gen kids to grow in normal circumstances, or we have handed them over to Cartoon Characters of Ben10, Barbie, Bratz etc?
TV and Computers have overpowered the way elders think and behave, and unfortunately, same is the case with kids. The imprints these kids are getting from TV and Computers and cartoon characters will produce a generation beyond our imagination. These unnatural, moving and shouting characters will form unnatural humans to rule our world!
This is scary!

“Career Stagnation Syndrome”
Did you ever realize how challenging it is to continue upward on your career ladder?
Are you aware that we as common working individuals spend approximately a third of our lives working at our jobs and most of us get stuck at certain level, and breaking that level to move further seems impossible.
Some people get recognition as good team players, doers, flexible, yet no progress in career. If this continues, they become stale! Without realizing, they actually drag towards their workplace, feel unchallenged and depressed.
If you fall in such a situation, you may be suffering! Its “Career Stagnation Syndrome”. Please diagnose it with the following tool:
No promotion in last five years. [Yes] [No]
Income not doubled in the last five years. [Yes] [No]
No direction or defined career path. [Yes] [No]
Job becomes daily pain rather than eternal passion. [Yes] [No]
Excitement is taken over by anxiety. [Yes] [No]
Look forward to weekends from Monday. [Yes] [No]
If the answers to the above are YES, then you should read my next blog which will describe the remedy for CSS………

Is 3 Idiots an inspiration from Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford Commencement Address
Millions watched 3 Idiots, an Indian film by Amir Khan (http://bit.ly/2PotAU).
The topic of this film is inspiring. Story talks about three young lads joining an engineering university, two of them purely because their parents wanted them to become engineers whereas one of these three was really interested in learning what engineering was!
In one scene, dialogues were (Translation): “Since I did not have to attend any specific class, I used to go to school and sit in the class I liked the most”!
That dialogue took my thoughts to Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford Commencement Address when he said:
“After six months, I could not see any value in attending the college, I decide to dropout, it was quite scary in the beginning, but the moment I dropped out, things started becoming clearer. I did not have to take classes didn’t interest me and beginning dropping in the one that I liked.”
http://bit.ly/sInuU (Listen to Steve Jobs’ speech)
Did you find similarity here? I did….
That made me think that the film is an inspiration from Steve Jobs……Any comments?

Creativity, a key Factor in Leadership Competency
The acceptable definition of creativity is “Production of something original and useful”.
If we look back, in the past 10 years, some interesting innovations were introduced in the marketplace. Itouch, Segway, iPod, Clone dog, Cindy smart doll, Sonic Toothbrush, Dolly the sheep, iPhone, Wi-Fi, Gameboy, eBay, IPod etc are few commonly known products.
A recent research tells us that the creativity is going down the hill! How surprising to know that at this age of innovation, global creativity crisis has started emerging!
Moreover, in an IBM poll conducted recently, creativity has been identified as the key factor in “Leadership Competency”. If that is a true outcome of IBM Survey, I am afraid, the leadership around the globe is also showing the same impact, “LACK OF CREATIVITY”.
I believe that the creativity needs to be harnessed right from the childhood. How unfortunate it is that in most schooling systems the “arts” is referred as the tool to enhance creativity! What about music, science, nature, these are creative inspirations too!

Problems are Opportunities!
Problems around the globe keep the news media alive!
I still remember a comment by a CNN reporter “If there is no violence, there is no news”. Isn’t that a valid comment? Such news has conditioned our brains to look for negative and problem riddled news. However there is one nation that has redefined the way people look at problems! Chinese….. yes they call these problems “Opportunities”.
Recently reading an article in TIME magazine “China’s New Continent”, I was amazed to learn that China is investing heavily in Africa, a continent known for PROBLEMS!
Chinese have invested in countries such as Algeria ($20 billion in construction industry), Nigeria ($23 billion in refineries), Angola ($2.5 billion in offshore oil) and South Africa ($5.5 billion in banking sector) suggest that China is delivering investments on one hand for creating a new market for its products, and on the other, accessing new resources.
Chinese Ambassador to The Democratic Republic of Congo says “Other countries say, this country has lots of problems. We say there is huge potential”!
One interesting lesson for me……… look around for problems, these will actually create opportunities…… the only condition is to remain positive!

Dalai Lama - How can we teach our children not to be angry?
Dalai Lama. His Holiness is both the temporal and the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people.
( Read Biography of Dalai Lama http://bit.ly/aDICx6 )
Reading in TIME Magazine of July 5th, 2010 I was struck by Dalai Lama’s response to a question. Thought I share it with you;
Question was: How can we teach our children not to be angry?
Response: Children always look to their parents. Parents should be calm. You can teach children that you face a lot of problems but you must react to those problems with a calm mind and reason.
I have always had this view about the modern education system: WE pay attention to brain development, but the development of warm heartedness we take for granted!
I often feel, while buried in our issue, parents forget that our prime responsibility is towards the development of the next generation human beings! But, living in an era of stiff competition, we forget certain key responsibilities given to us by the nature!
Anger pushes us towards insanity, that’s true! We loose control over our emotions several times a day, don’t we?

British Petroleum - Oil Spill - Seperate Standards for Rich and Poor
On 20th April 2010, a massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico at a British Petroleum leased rig threw BP in deep trouble. US Government has launched criminal investigations, share prices fell over 16% and bad media caused massive destruction to BP’s brand image. Until recently, over Sterling 40bn-a third of its value has been wiped off!
(Download US Story http://bit.ly/dm3cN0 )
(Download BP Story http://bit.ly/QOPj8 )
US side of the story tells us that the spill is the worst environmental disaster in the US history. The oil has covered more than 70 miles of Louisiana’s coastline. Whereas according to Britons, Americans are furious with BP and the Gulf of Mexico is poorly regulated compared to Norway’s oilfields or the British North Sea.
Some commentators say that such spills are common in poorer parts of the world. Vast areas of Ecuador, Colombia and Peru have been “devastated”. A report in this week’s “The Week” suggests that
“If this accident has happened off the coast of Africa or Indonesia, BP would probably have avoided much publicity and escaped starting a clean-up for many months”
Seperate standards…………. for Rich and Poor!

Change Your Thinking Process - Remez Sasson - Mind Your Mind
I read a book "Mind Your Mind" by Remez Sasson.
(Download ebook http://bit.ly/ceY1XY)
Sharing a very interesting portion with my blog readers:
"In order to make changes in our life, we have to make changes in our thinking process.
One single thought is not strong enough to make changes, but if this same thought is repeated often, it gradually gains strength. The great thing about this process is that we do not need to strain or exert ourselves to make it happen. All we have to do is to choose a thought that we want to come true and keep repeating it."

When you Quit Your Job!
I am dead, no career move, my boss is a ……! These are some comments we hear from those who are about to quit their respective jobs.
A number of such people find some sympathetic friends who would advise against quitting. They try to induce the fear factor……. Who is going to pay your rent, cell phone bill, cable…… gasoline…..etc.
Thinks about the key difference between a frustrated quitter and a planned quitter. The first one will remain frustrated and he has learnt to live that way. Whereas the later one already has a dream, a plan for the next move. His energy levels are high.
Boom, he quits and what next? ………. Challenges!
In my recent experience, the planned quitter, despite his tough challenges, quickly finds ways to proceed with his plan, although success may not be that quick. I know three persons that quit their jobs in search of nirvana. One is Zishan Jafri www.totaltravels.pk, 2nd is Ashraf Chaudhry www.ashrafchaudhry.com and the next one is Omair Ali www.twspk.com. They all went through challenging times, but survived and progressed.
Message: Plan ahead and stick to it.

I was shocked to see Noting from Pakistan, but I guess we are in the media too much anyway……. justifying anymore space in an international magazine was challenging anyway!
Alarming for Pakistan, a large and exciting country……… No coverage in respect to Mind, Body and Soul!

Entrepreneurship is all about Partnerships and Creative Thinking!
Reading about Entrepreneurship, I was touched by quotes from two top Entrepreneurs, I thought to share these with my blog readers:
"Our success has really been based on partnerships from the very beginning."- Bill Gates
"Nobody talks about entrepreneurship as survival, but that's exactly what it is and what nurtures creative thinking. Running that first shop taught me business is not financial science; it's about trading: buying and selling."- Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop

Mind Map The Ultimate Thinking Tool By Tony Buzan
In 1986, Sean Adam predicted that within the next 20 years, Mind Maps would be the Global Thinking Tool.
(Download PDF Book http://bit.ly/5E9XKr)
After reading a book “Mind Map The Ultimate Thinking Tool” by Tony Buzan, who is a famous author, educational consultant and a proponent of the techniques of Mind Mapping and mental literacy, I was estonished to learn the way our brain thinks.
Tony says that
“our brain works with sensory Images with appropriate links and associations radiating from them. Our brain uses the word to trigger these images and associations and produces 3-D picture!”
Strange!
You can experiment it too - Write a word say “F I R E” watch it and immidiately close your eyes, keep them closed for few seconds and think about it--------- You will not see the word FIRE, but an image of actual burning fire..
What a great learning for me!

Turn your Dreams into realities
In his article, “Innovators: How To Turn Your Dreams Into Reality”
Neil Armand, said
“Whether you have tried to sell your ideas in the past and failed or whether you have never tried beyond nurturing your ideas in your mind, please remember this--if you deeply believe in your ideas and if you have a vision of greatness for your ideas, one day, you will be able to turn your dreams into reality”.
Often, it is too challenging to turn your dream into realities; however, entrepreneurs are usually successful in making their dream come true!
How come? One of the reason is their ability of visualize. They know specifics of their dreams (shape, size, characteristics, odor, features etc).
Interestingly, most successful entrepreneurs share their dreams with their peers and get advice. This not only improve upon their ideas, also helps expand their knowledge horizon.
“If you can dream it, you can do it”, said Walt Disney.

The Most Intimate Innovation of This Century! Birth Control Pill
So is it TV, Internet, iPod, iPad, CD, DVD ………. No!
The Time Magazine suggests that the Birth Control Pill is the one that affected us most intimately!
Richard Stengel, Managing Editor of Time Magazine writes;
“In 2010 the importance of women’s health is more pressing than ever; hundreds of thousands of women die in pregnancy and childbirth each year. Counties that educate and empower women tend to be less violent and unstable and more likely to develop socially and economically”
While I agree that women empowerment by providing equal opportunity in decision making, education, health and other aspects of democratic culture is vitally important, but I fail to understand how developed nations will cope with reduced birth rate and aging generation. The only option most such nations are looking at is “Encourage Immigrants” to come, live, work and produce the next generation for these countries.
It’s a challenging question; We should remember “one size does not fit all”!

The only option most such nations are looking at is “Encourage Immigrants” to come, live, work and produce the next generation for these countries.
It’s a challenging question; We should remember “one size does not fit all”!

“The Mom Test”
I read an interesting article by Ian Yarett published in recent Newsweek Magazine. Ian pointed to the importance of Customer (consumer) behaviour resulting in acceptance or rejection of a new product, in this case Apple’s iPad.
Ian’s mom, a phyical therapist, in her mid-50’s A lady with no interest in new technologies. She uses a slow first-generation MacBook, primarily for basic wordprocessing, emails and web browsing. And how experiencing iPad excited her. When she tried out its email and web browsing, and watched the display reorient automatically as she turned it sideways, she wanted one immidiately!
My learning from this article is very simple, Experiencing increases the customer (consumer’s) confidence and makes marketing simple.

What is a Lifetime Opportunity?
“This was a lifetime opportunity”, is an statement heard by many. The statement explains a rare chance that can bring some extraordinary benefits for us, be it making money, career growth, buying a car, finding a life partner, etc.
I agree that certain and extremely rare opportunities may apprear only once in lifetime, but that does not mean there will not be other and better opportunities coming our way. Hence my argument is when our future is a secret thing, how can we call an opportunity a “lifetime or rare”?
In my opinion, lost opportunities are those that have never come our way, these were never meant for us. But those that are intended to be ours, will not only be easy to grab, I would say “These will fall into our laps”, and without much efforts.
Please see how many such opportunities fell into your lap during your lifetime and did you grab them or else?

Challenge “Redefining US Image” - Obama moves to de-link terrorism from Islam
In a recent report, US administration says that, President Barack Obama has ordered a revision of America’s National Security Strategy with the aim to remove terms that link Islam to terrorism. The officials said the change would remove terms like “Islamic radicalism” from the National Security Strategy.
Bush administration described the war against terrorists as “the struggle against militant Islamic radicalism. This caused US a lot of Image issue amongst Muslims within the US and around the globe.
The report suggests that in 2008, the US National Counter-Terrorism Centre produced a document, called “Words that Work and Words that Don’t: A Guide for Counter-Terrorism Communication,” which encouraged government agencies and officials to avoid characterizing terrorist groups as “Islamic” or “Muslim,” as that could “unintentionally legitimize” their tactics.
Super! Words will have impact and this move will certainly help change the IMAGE but the question is how much efforts will be required to ensure regularly communicating this NEW Message to the larger audience around the globe and how long it will take to actually see the impact?
Any comments Brand Management guys?

Promoting Brand Image – Learning from Sania Mirza-Shoaib Malik Story
(Download latest on Sania and Shoaib http://shoaib-sania.com/)
So were they international fame? No, Sania Mirza was known to tennis lovers, mostly of Indian origin, and Shoaib Malik was a cricketer known to few cricket playing nations.
Their marriage was not such a big event that could become headlines in most media around the globe! Only one move made them the most discussed couple on every form of media in only couple of weeks!
Was that a strategically planned, or was an accident? One character Ayesha was the key in what we saw “Creating the Mess”. But it was also proved that mess is sometime useful in building the Brand Image!
We may see Sania-Shoaib designer shop, sports products, novel, a movie (on their adventures wedding). Best of luck to them.
Learning: Keep exploring the new ways to promote your brand and yourself, becoming a household name should be the objective.

Inspirations - Dreams Come True!
I was wondering when we grow, why we imitate people around us, why we like or dislike certain things? How do we chose a career, buy a car etc.
I was caught by one word that makes things happen in our lives, “Inspirations”, we grow up with lots of these around us.
Recently, I was reading an article by Amy Twain, author of "Quick-Action Plan for A More Confident You", who says that “Real inspiration can be compared to a fingerprint, different for every person”. Isn’t that true? We all know that not everyone is inspired by similar things.
Yes, you can find them where ever you go. Be fully aware and look around objectively, believe me, universe is full of inspirational stuff.
List what inspires you; it will help you in making your dreams come true!

Explore Possibilities with Positive Attitude
An attitude is a hypothetical construct that represents an individual's degree of like or dislike for an item. Attitudes are generally positive or negative views of a person, place, thing, or event --- Defination from wikipedia
What does it mean? In simple words it suggests that when human being faces a situation when something is going against his or her expectations, usually a pessimistic approach develops that instigates negative attitude. And a positive attitude is a reflection of our expected outcomes of an event etc.
Now go back in your memories and think when and where negative attitude brought even bigger pessimistic vision? I am sure you will find many instances when in the back of your mind; you developed this negativity that attracted more negativity and created depression and anxiety!
This proves that the attitude we display certainly reflects on the path we take in life and in everything we do while staying in that frame of mind. Not only that, it also affects our life by determining what happens to us today and tomorrow.
So, now we know that our attitude determines many aspects of our life and positive attitude brings about positive things, while a negative attitude spreads negativity around us.
Be transformed by adapting to a positive attitude, join the positivity --

Important to think strategically!
Thinking is a gifted process. We usually take it for granted, don’t we?
In your contact circle, how many colleagues, co-workers, friends, family members you saw going through the “Process of Thinking?”
“Thinking Mechanically” is the our common behavior!
However, it is an undeniable fact that the ever changing and highly competitive environment that we live in requires an effective approach to issues that we face on almost daily basis.
So what shall we do? First thing is first; Avoid linear thinking, Consider formal planning and "think out of the box", as it adds innovation to your thinking process.
You will be surprised to learn that once start thinking strategically, you will experience issues being resolved easily. Why? Because, you have now learnt to foresee potential threats and opportunities. Not only it becomes a competitive differential for you in this dynamic and extremely demanding challenging environment, it also defines a clearer direction by giving a “bird's eye view” of your future roadmap.
To me the biggest benefit one could have by following the path of “Strategic Thinking” is building the value of your “Human Capital”.
Strategic thinking is a science, we should learn it.

Visioning, a Human Characteristic that Leads to Success
"Achieving success is not an accident: it results from a deliberate process of identifying a compelling purpose, passionately pursuing your vision, preparing for high level outcomes, and performing at your best." Said Eric Allenbaugh in his book titled “Deliberate Success: Realize Your Vision with Purpose, Passion, and Performance”
Human are gifted with this unique characteristic called “Visioning” or conceiving The Future!
Vision or if I may call it Future, can be created through focusing at the end result. Career, business, family life etc can be envisioned and created as per your desire. The process motivates us and provides strategic direction to achieve what we want. Visioning improves the ability to make right decisions at the right time, helping us to maximize our potential and that becomes the driving force that leads to success.
Jack Canfield, America’s Success Coach, is the founder and co-creator of the billion-dollar book brand Chicken Soup for the Soul said:
“Your brain will work tirelessly to achieve the statements you give your subconscious mind. And when those statements are the affirmation of your goals, you are certain to achieve them!”

The Spirit of Entrepreneurship
During my 21 years of professional career, I have interacted with countless entrepreneurs, in my opinion, Quest is the key word that describes an entrepreneur. Whereas, challenging their ability to keep excelling is the key skill. Highly successful entrepreneurs I met were those who regularly re-evaluated their performance and whenever required changed their strategies to achieve their ultimate vision.
In their book, The Spirit of Entrepreneurship, Nandram, Sharda S., Samsom, Karel J. say that;
"the human side of entrepreneurship venturing, in our opinion an underexposed subject both in terms of serious research as well as descriptive writing”
They quoted Jerry Engels and David Charron of UC Berkeley who said that
“entrepreneurship is a team sport”
Isn’t that true? Yes I guess would be the answer. An entrepreneur achieves his vision through a game plan, and the major successes factor in the winning a game depends on the effectiveness and co-ordination of team players!

SWOT – A great tool for Strategic Planning
Changing dynamics of personal and professional environment keep us on our toes all the time. In this situation, our futuristic vision may remain intact; but strategies for continued growth require a constant watch and alignment.
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats are four variables used for developing a Risk : Opportunity matrix. Strengths and weaknesses are internal factors and opportunities and threats are external factors. A genuine analysis of these factors helps in developing a realistic strategic plan.
One major lesson that I have drawn from various readings and experience is that
if we learn to convert our weaknesses in to strengths and threats in to opportunities, our careers and businesses can see an exponential growth.
I had an excellent interaction with Mr Tariq Ikram yesterday at a workshop I attended in which a session on “The Role of the Board in Setting Strategy” was facilitated with Mr Ikram. I have known him for many years when he was the chief of Reckitt Benckiser. Most recently he served as Minister of State and Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau of Pakistan. He is currently the President of Textile Institute of Pakistan (www.tip.edu.pk) (detailed CV is available at: http://www.tcd.ie/iiis/documents/documents/Introduction%20to%20Mr%20Tariq%20Ikram%20May(24)2006%20(2).pdf)I was so astonished to learn that Mr Ikram also loves SWOT and has been using this tool for developing strategic objectives.
I conducted a workshop sometime ago to cover SWOT; a video clip (in Urdu language) is available on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gajngiwou5k. And was also picked-up by http://sciencestage.com/v/14513/swot-analysis.html

Leadership at its best!
Leadership at its best!
If we google “leadership”, we will fined enormous documents, videos, articles and books on this subject.
Some suggest that leadership entails visualizing the goal and effectively communicating that goal. Few would attribute it with the art of getting people to move together toward a goal.
Some say that the biggest difference between managers and leaders is the way they motivate the people who work or follow them, and this sets the tone for most other aspects of what they do.
Interestingly most writers and researchers agree that leaders have some unique qualities that make them “LEADERS”. Common qualities are (not in any particular order):
- Vision
- Risk taking
- Integrity
- Motivation
- Love
- Passion
- Energy
- Sharing
In my opinion most of these qualities human experience is at the age between 3-10 years.
How many toddlers do you see with low integrity?
They are highly charged and motivated.
They express love and expect the same.
At younger age one is ready to take any risk.
Passion to learn and to excel is at the highest level.
In my opinion, Leaders are created at a young age.
What is your opinion? Share at hammadlinks@gmail.com

Power of Words
Have you ever thought how specific words can impact on your emotions?
Words we speak are vibrations, no matter which language you speak, these vibrations can motivate, demotivate, relax or create frustration.
Only recently I experimented the impact of this vibration on a group of 21 women leaders from chambers across Pakistan. Sitting in a workshop environment, I asked them to close their eyes and tell themselves "I am about to start an extremely difficult job". They were left in this feeling for a minute, and after one minute, I asked them to open their eyes and share what they felt. Over 90% said that they felt pressure, anxiety and depression.
I asked them to close their eyes and relax for few seconds. After about 30 seconds, I asked them to tell their mind "I am about to start an extremely challenging task". They were remained in this state of mind for a minutes. After a minute everyone shared the positive vibes such as energy, encouragement and strength.
You can experiment it too. Please share your feelings with me. My email is: hammadlinks@gmail.com
