Important to think strategically!

Thinking is a gifted process. We usually take it for granted, don’t we?

In your contact circle, how many colleagues, co-workers, friends, family members you saw going through the “Process of Thinking?”

“Thinking Mechanically” is the our common behavior!

However, it is an undeniable fact that the ever changing and highly competitive environment that we live in requires an effective approach to issues that we face on almost daily basis.

So what shall we do? First thing is first; Avoid linear thinking, Consider formal planning and "think out of the box", as it adds innovation to your thinking process.

You will be surprised to learn that once start thinking strategically, you will experience issues being resolved easily. Why? Because, you have now learnt to foresee potential threats and opportunities. Not only it becomes a competitive differential for you in this dynamic and extremely demanding challenging environment, it also defines a clearer direction by giving a “bird's eye view” of your future roadmap.

To me the biggest benefit one could have by following the path of “Strategic Thinking” is building the value of your “Human Capital”.

Strategic thinking is a science, we should learn it.

Visioning, a Human Characteristic that Leads to Success

"Achieving success is not an accident: it results from a deliberate process of identifying a compelling purpose, passionately pursuing your vision, preparing for high level outcomes, and performing at your best." Said Eric Allenbaugh in his book titled “Deliberate Success: Realize Your Vision with Purpose, Passion, and Performance”

Human are gifted with this unique characteristic called “Visioning” or conceiving The Future!

Vision or if I may call it Future, can be created through focusing at the end result. Career, business, family life etc can be envisioned and created as per your desire. The process motivates us and provides strategic direction to achieve what we want. Visioning improves the ability to make right decisions at the right time, helping us to maximize our potential and that becomes the driving force that leads to success.

Jack Canfield, America’s Success Coach, is the founder and co-creator of the billion-dollar book brand Chicken Soup for the Soul said:

“Your brain will work tirelessly to achieve the statements you give your subconscious mind. And when those statements are the affirmation of your goals, you are certain to achieve them!”

The Spirit of Entrepreneurship

During my 21 years of professional career, I have interacted with countless entrepreneurs, in my opinion, Quest is the key word that describes an entrepreneur. Whereas, challenging their ability to keep excelling is the key skill. Highly successful entrepreneurs I met were those who regularly re-evaluated their performance and whenever required changed their strategies to achieve their ultimate vision.

In their book, The Spirit of Entrepreneurship, Nandram, Sharda S., Samsom, Karel J. say that;
"the human side of entrepreneurship venturing, in our opinion an underexposed subject both in terms of serious research as well as descriptive writing”

They quoted Jerry Engels and David Charron of UC Berkeley who said that
“entrepreneurship is a team sport”

Isn’t that true? Yes I guess would be the answer. An entrepreneur achieves his vision through a game plan, and the major successes factor in the winning a game depends on the effectiveness and co-ordination of team players!
